Welcome to White and Wild

Hancock Tower

This is White and Wild for Textpattern, a theme by wilshire|one. While many themes are replacements for standard Textpattern foms and pages, this theme can be installed while still preserving your original Textpattern installation.

One highlight of the theme is its super simple install process. Just cut and paste the encoded theme into the textarea on the admin -> plugin tab and install it as you would a normal plugin. All of the forms, pages and styles used for the theme will be installed for you automatically. Then simply setup your sections and your site is complete.

Installation

  1. Download and unzip the WhiteAndWild.zip file.
  2. Install and activate the 6 plugin files from the plugins directory.
  3. Install and activate the WhiteAndWild-1.0.txt file as you would a plugin.
  4. Navigate to a tab other than the plugin tab and all forms, styles and pages will be installed. They’ll all have “waw_” at the beginning.
  5. Deactivate the WhiteAndWild plugin.
  6. Set the following admin preferences for comments:
    • Present comments as a numbered list? No
    • Comments mode Nopopup
    • Automatically append comments to articles? No
  7. Setup your sections as below. You can either do this manually or by running the WhiteAndWildSections.sql using the rss_admin_db_manager plugin or phpMyAdmin.
  8. Upload the img directory to the root directory of your site (the same one as index.php)
  9. If you installed Textpattern in a subdirectory, you’ll need to edit the image paths in the CSS (search for /img). You can also replace the logo.gif image that is displayed in the header if you choose.

And that’s it. White and Wild should be up and running.

Nice style, will definitly try it for my blog. Hope I can somehow integrate it with a more static homepage in a different design…

Very nice! I am translating it to Spanish and it is quite easy… just canĀ“t find where to translate the “search the archives” phrase on the top right and seems that the “Name” label was forgotten on the Contact form…. any ideas on where to change them.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Really nice template. I’ve just installed it, and its working beautifully. One quick question – I’m new to textpattern (and obviously this template), so how can get a static homepage (ie doesn’t update when I post to another section). I’m sure its simple?

I love the ease of the install! You are sure to attract alot of downloads….very brillant.
A couple of questions; after tweaking here and there getting a general feel of TxP customization I can’t seem to duplicate placing an image on the front page. I know this should not be difficult could you steer me straight. Also, because I am using the WAMP server on my desktop to do the dev work I needed to direct the CSS to the img file the logo gif was no problem but the icons are missing just the text link shows any ideas.
Once again beautiful, clean and consise theme.
